Just a few years ago, one of the main complaints about living on the island was the lack of a diverse music scene. For sure, if you liked dance music, you could find that at any nightclub, but after the Saxophone Bar closed its doors on the island approximately 5 years ago, there has been a lack of quality Jazz music.
If you are a fan of Jazz music, you will be happy to hear that the 4th Phuket City Jazz Music Summit will this year be taking place at the Tablespoon Cafe, Central Festival Phuket, on the 23rd November. The bands will be made up of some homegrown Jazz talents from the island, alongside some international acts.
The best bit about the event is that it’s a free concert, aiming to promote Jazz music to Phuket.
Bands that are included in this year’s festival are Boy Navio Band, Bluroom Band from Angsana Resort, The Le Tab Band (Belgium), Jakub Augustyn (Poland),Tonet Lipana (Philippines), Rolly Rodriguez (Philippines) Siobahn Mcgovern (Canada) & Friends and singers like Editha Ballesteros (Philippines), EKA (Canada), El Bulan(Thailand) & Miss Tikky Kasemsri (Thailand).
